Meet Kristan – Our Founder and Chief Surveyor
Kristan is a graduate of RMIT University with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Geomatics) Degree, specializing in Surveying. With extensive experience in the surveying industry, Kristan has a proven track record working for one of Australia’s largest surveying firms.
His career highlights include serving as Project Surveyor for major subdivision and construction projects nationwide.
Kristan's expertise spans a variety of high-profile projects, including:
- Cloudbreak Mining Plant Construction for FMG (WA)
- Kestrel Mine Extension Project for Rio Tinto (QLD)
- Christmas Creek Mining Plant Construction for FMG (WA)
- Indian Ocean Drive Highway Project (WA)
During his tenure as Chief Project Surveyor on the Indian Ocean Drive highway project, Kristan managed survey operations for three field crews, oversaw equipment procurement, ensured quality control, conducted risk assessments, and reported directly to directors.
His role also involved comprehensive project management and effective communication with supervisors and works managers.

Wil - Managing Director
Graduated Bachelor of Applied Science (Surveying) Degree Honours 1st Class back in 2021 and has since worked solely for Flat Out Surveying and 5D Surveying. Wil's first experiences with surveying including assisting in the Echuca-Moama Bridge project as a project surveyor which then lead into being the head surveyor for Huntly, Raywood and Goornong Railway Stations.
Since then Wil has been operating out of Echuca dealing with everything from small residential feature surveys and subdivisions to bigger commercial builds. Will is also head of our drone operations as Chief Remote pilot and carries all licenses required to complete almost any task whether it be volume surveys or drone spraying.
Rob - Managing Director
Rob studied the Bachelor of Applied Science (Geomatics) Degree at RMIT University. He has expansive experience in the surveying industry working for numerous top tier construction companies over his 22 years as a Surveyor.
His career highlights include serving as Survey Manager for major civil, subdivision and infrastructure projects.Rob’s expertise spans a variety of projects, some include:
- Wimmera Mallee Water Pipeline Project
- Sanctuary Lakes & Saltwater Subdivision, Point Cook
- Williams Landing Train Station Project- Calder Highway
- Burrumbeet to Beaufort Road Upgrade
- Ringwood Train Station Upgrade
- Ballarat Line Upgrade, Rail duplication
- Echuca Cantilever Bridge Project
During his time as Survey Manager at Ballarat Line Upgrade, Rob managed 4 field crews, all survey operations, oversaw equipment procurement, ensured quality control, conducted risk assessments and discussed operations and design with the project management team.
His role involved effective communication with supervisors and works managers and managing 24-hour crews required to achieve project requirements and deadlines.
